With the Web Services API (Application Programming Interface), which is included in the DocFinity Core, there are no complicated new programs to learn. Employees can retrieve and view materials, initiate automatic workflows that direct and redirect work to the next phase in the business process, send documents onward for approval, initiate automatic reports on a regular basis, and much more. Processing decisions are based on business rules for paper-based procedures.
For example, a company might pre-determine that all applications, claims, loans, or reports should automatically be forwarded to a pre-designated person (or department) when the volume of documents is normal. However, work may need to be divided among two, three, or even hundreds of employees when the volume exceeds what is normal for the organization. The division of work that takes place is in accordance with rule sets established by authorized managers. In another example, an employee might simply enter the date when a payment for products or services was received. Depending on the date of the payment, the API would initiate an electronic workflow to generate letters indicating that an interest payment is due for all invoices that were paid after the due date. A third example might involve employees simply pulling up and viewing electronic images related to the documents they are processing, particularly if a question arises during the processing of an individual’s documents.
