BMI Honored by Kinetic Information for Innovative Use of Technology
State College, Pa. – October 31, 2003 – BMI, a not-for-profit organization which represents songwriters, composers and music publishers across the globe, has been recognized by Kinetic Information as a second place winner of the 2003 Process Innovation Vision Award for its innovative use of technology.
Kinetic Information President Steve Weissman comments, “Our judges were impressed with BMI’s use of technology to proactively change their processes. This kind of forward-thinking decision is what qualifies an organization for a Vision Award, and BMI is a worthy recipient indeed.”
The Vision Award is presented annually, as part of Kinetic Information’s Process Innovation Awards, to organizations that push the standard application of technology to achieve greater success with everyday business processes.
Steve Emrick, CDIA+, Director of Imaging Technology for BMI, states, “The project for which we are being honored represents a remarkable accomplishment by not only an excellent interdepartmental team at BMI but an outstanding team at Optical Image Technology. I want to congratulate everyone who participated.”
Since 2001, BMI has been leveraging Optical Image Technology, Inc.’s (OIT) DocFinity® Suite of Products, to assist the organization in improving its business processes in six individual departments, including Accounts Payable, Licensing, Operations and Performing Rights. Scott Buchart, President and CEO of OIT, remarks, “The success BMI has had with the DocFinity Suite is outstanding. We’re very proud of the work they have been doing and extend our congratulations on being bestowed with this prestigious honor.”
