OIT: Eliminating File Cabinets in the Medical Billing Industry
State College, Pa.- Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT) is pleased to announce its work with Medical Billing Specialists, Ltd. of East Dundee, Ill.
Medical Billing Specialists, Ltd. sought out OIT’s DocFinity® Suite of Products to assist them in better serving their clients. Through utilizing DocFinity Imaging, the company will scan their entire patient billing forms for easy search and retrieval. In doing their business in this way, they will have the ability to meet the needs of their clients in a more timely manner.
Although system implementation was completed on January 20, 2003, the company is already seeing results. Luke Wilberding, Assistant to the President, remarked about the system in saying, “It was a long overdue product and will be a key implementation to Medical Billing Specialists, Ltd. Our records will now be more accurate and compliant. Also, we will be better equipped to serve our clients.”
In addition to increasing customer satisfaction, Medical Billing Specialists, Ltd. solved many of their storage problems through implementing the DocFinity Imaging system. The organization’s basement was once a warehouse with boxes upon boxes of medical billing forms. Now, that space can be put to better, more cost efficient use, since all files are captured electronically.
Julia Allhouse, an Implementation Analyst and Quality Control Manager for OIT installed the software, and remarked, "When introducing the new scanning environment to the users, they were very pleased on how user friendly our software is, and couldn't believe all they had to do was put the patient information into the scanner, press a button to scan and then index. With those two steps, the information was at the employees’ fingertips.”
Founded in 1986, Optical Image Technology, Inc. is committed to the development of cost effective electronic document management solutions and designing products that help its customers become more efficient and productive.
