Optical Image Technology Announces 2007-2008 TAP Panel
Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) helps to shape the future of DocFinity® products
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - June 29, 2007 - The Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) of Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT) announces a new slate of panel participants for 2007-2008. TAP, a volunteer advisory group that has been in existence for two years, counts among its achievements the creation of a software roadmap that has supported the strategy of DocFinity® product enhancements and development along with the quality assurance and documentation procedures now in place.
Ron Prichard, president of Optical Image Technology, states, "Value exchanges with our customer base have been instrumental to our success through the years. TAP was initiated to help us drive value. The panel ensures that we understand how the customer and user community defines value with respect to the relationships they have with OIT. TAP ensures that we deliver and improve on the benefits derived by our customers. We want to gain more value from our customer relationships so that we can improve, understand industry differentiators, and target smart growth by understanding our customers' needs."
Customers and partners serving on the panel for 2007/2008 include Steve Mullins, The Ohio State University; Vijay Magon, OITUK Ltd; Phil Nielsen and Holland Ferguson of Kinecta Federal Credit Union; Perry Kurlander of CDMS; Deborah Tilly of the City of Madison (Wis.); Luis Torres of Hershey Medical Center; Jason Howard of Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI); Dan Hoover and Catherine Reid of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina (an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association); Greg Cook of Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company; and Art Meadows of Panhandle Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Mullins and Magon were the inaugural leaders of TAP during the first two years.
Co-conveners of this new panel are Shelley Butler, The Pennsylvania State University, and Steve Emrick, Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI). In addition to OIT customers and partners, the panel consists of software analysts as well as officers and directors from within OIT, who serve as liaisons to the panel. Steve Emrick affirms, "The previous co-conveners did a fantastic job of taking TAP from a concept to what it is today: an essential part of the total DocFinity solution. It is a win-win for the customers and the company. We, as customers, now have much more input into the development of new products and software enhancements. I plan to work with Shelley Butler to help move TAP to the next level. We have identified a list of projects that we want to accomplish over the next year, and plan to work with sub-committees to get those projects done. We are looking forward to working with a very energetic and extremely knowledgeable panel. "
TAP has established several projects to encourage interaction between both customers and developers in order to shape the direction of the DocFinity software products. The group holds monthly telephone conferences and meets face-to-face semiannually. TAP's mentoring program, which matches customers who have particular needs with others who have IT experience in their specific areas of need, will be the main focus for the 2007/2008 session.
As stated by Jim Hopkins, OIT's Director of Development, "TAP serves the needs of the development department in multiple ways. It serves as a sounding board to bounce off design ideas and development priorities in order to better meet client needs. TAP members have also taken on the review and discussion of specific modules in an effort to define more clearly the requirements of future enhancements. They are a real asset to the company."
