OIT Adds Move/Purge Functionality to ObjectSERVE Product

STATE COLLEGE, PA:  Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT), developer of award winning content management systems, has enhanced its hierarchical storage management module, ObjectSERVE™, by adding an Indicator Move/Purge Functionality designed to increase the efficiency of content management throughout its customer organizations.

ObjectSERVE can be used to schedule moves and purges from the OIT repository based on one of four main criteria.  The system uses indicators such as Page Type, Report Name, DOS File Type, and User Key Values to automatically determine which files to move or purge.

"Our customers have been able to do move and purge functions for years within the OIT system via SQL statements and file-move/file-delete commands," explains Scott Buchart, President of OIT.  "We have always focused on providing our customers with products to make their business processes run more smoothly.  For this reason, we have worked to further automate the processes within ObjectSERVE, making it easier for current and new customers to utilize this functionality."

"The OIT suite of products exists in a state of evolutionary development.  As new customer needs are presented, they are incorporated into the products", adds OIT's Director of Product Development, Jerry Cannie.  "This makes flexibility OIT's first priority."

OIT's award-winning Total Solution for Document/Content Management includes:  OptiFICHE™ (COLD-ERM/EBPP), OptiIMAGE™(Document Imaging), OptiFLOW™(Workflow/Process Management), IntraVIEWER® (Browser Access/E-Business Enabler), ObjectSERVE™ (HSM), ObjectPRINT™ (Print/Fax Server), and InfoVIEW™ (Enhanced Index Extraction).   OIT has gained prominent industry recognition by organizations such as AIIM, Doculabs and Kinetic Information.  OIT's Total Solution enables people to be more productive and makes information more manageable.
