Penn State and Optical Image Technology Receive National Awards

Prestigious I-Cubed and ACE Awards Recognize Outstanding Technology Achievements

STATE COLLEGE, PA – March 12, 2008 – The Pennsylvania State University’s Administrative Information Services (AIS) and Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT), creators of the DocFinity® suite of workflow and document management software, received national awards at the 2008 AIIM Expo technology conference in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 5. OIT, creator of the DocFinity suite of workflow, imaging, and document management products, was presented ECM Connection’s ACE Award for the company’s products and services to the insurance industry. Penn State’s AIS received Integrated Solutions magazine’s I-Cubed Award for their centralized document imaging solution, which uses OIT’s DocFinity products. The awards were presented by Ken Congdon, Editor In Chief of Integrated Solutions magazine, and Michael Vereb, Senior Account Manager of ECM Connection, during a ceremony at the Boston Convention Center.

The I-Cubed Awards recognize end users that have implemented outstanding document and content management technology solutions in their organizations, focusing on the solution’s technology integration complexity, innovation, and ability to inspire other end users. A panel of industry judges chose Penn State’s AIS department from more than forty nominees across the United States. Shelley Butler, Document Management Consultant at Penn State, accepted the award on behalf of Penn State.

Scott Weaver, Manager of Information Services for AIS at Penn State, states, "The centralized imaging service has been a huge success across the university. It has helped many areas streamline document processing and has eliminated the frustration of dealing with the manual paper process. Receiving this award has validated the time and effort put forth in implementing this university-wide service.”

The ACE Award recognizes outstanding technology companies for their achievements based on their company’s Appeal, Content, and Education within the marketplace. OIT received first place in the Banking and Finance category for its innovative, feature-rich products; the resources offered to customers via the company’s website and marketing collateral; and its diverse outreach programs and services. Industry analysts and editors, as well as ECM Connection’s voting readership, selected OIT for its contributions to the insurance industry within the banking and finance award category. Jim Thumma, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Professional Services at OIT, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Mr. Thumma, who has worked for OIT since 2000 and also worked closely with Ms. Butler at Penn State, comments, “We are thrilled Penn State has been recognized for its leadership in their innovative use of our technology. Our company exists for the purpose of improving our customers’ business performance and helping each of them to succeed. We are very grateful to Integrated Solutions magazine and ECM Connection for this recognition.”
