Penn State and London Metropolitan Police to Speak at National AIIM Conference
Presentations Showcase Efficiencies Achieved with DocFinity® Software
STATE COLLEGE, PA – February 21, 2008 – Optical Image Technology (OIT), developer of the award-winning DocFinity suite of workflow and document management software, is pleased to announce that two customers will be speaking at the AIIM Expo in Boston in March. The presentations showcase the efficiencies both customers have achieved using DocFinity. Penn State is a longstanding client of OIT, and London Metropolitan Police is a client of OIT’s partner in the United Kingdom, OITUK, based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. Both presentations will take place in the Boston Convention Center.
Shelley Butler, Document Management Consultant for Administrative Information Services (AIS) of The Pennsylvania State University, will give a presentation entitled “Maximizing the Benefits of Centralized Document Management” on Tuesday, March 4. AIS launched a new, centralized service for all of its campus-wide document management needs in 2006. This novel approach provided a cost-effective solution for software installation, support, training, and maintenance of diverse solutions for all of its Pennsylvania campuses, revolutionizing services in multiple business areas.
London Metropolitan Police, located at Scotland Yard, will be represented by Detective Superintendent Stuart MacLeod, who will present “Integrating Imaging, Automated Workflow and Telecommunications to Expedite Business Processes: Practical Advice for Successful Implementations” on Wednesday, March 5. London Metropolitan Police integrated DocFinity imaging and workflow with other OITUK applications and existing telecommunications technology, delivering mission-critical information efficiently to their Telecommunications Intelligence Unit and resulting in improved services to the public. This has enabled the civic organization to catch criminals faster and even to prevent some crimes.
In addition to having two customers featured at the conference, OIT will feature six new products that were added to its integrated product suite during 2007. Some of these products are already being used and others are being considered by Penn State.
Ron Prichard, President of Optical Image Technology, states, “It is an honor to have a customer chosen to speak at the AIIM conference, and we are extremely fortunate this year to have two. Both Penn State and London Metropolitan Police are on the forefront of innovation in their fields due to their creative deployment of DocFinity and other technologies. They are to be applauded for their forward thinking, which results in increased efficiencies for each of their organizations and better service for their clients and patrons.”
Vijay Magon, Technical Director of OITUK, adds, “The development of the Telecommunications Intelligence Management System, while challenging, actually turned out to be an exciting project which was progressed through a very close partnership with The Metropolitan Police. This partnership continues to evolve as changes in operational rules and legal guidelines are reflected in the software, proving yet again that with the right technology and approach, large IT projects can be delivered successfully!”
