Optical Image Technology Honored with 'Process Innovation' Award from Kinetic Information
STATE COLLEGE, PA: Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT), a developer of industry respected content management software, has been awarded a 2001 Process Innovation Award for Manufacturing by Kinetic Information for its technology installed at New England Business Service, Inc. (NEBS).
Kinetic Information, a research and professional services firm that performs business consulting on technology matters, created the Process Innovation Awards in 1996 to honor superior applications for their business effectiveness. This year's awards were presented to companies that have implemented outstanding technological partnerships in six vertical markets, including manufacturing, education, financial services, government, health care, and insurance.
"The Process Innovation Awards focus on the superior application of information technology to solve business problems, not on any one specific technology," explains Steve Weissman, President of Kinetic Information. "The technology developed and applied by Optical Image Technology consistently ranks at the top because of the benefits its user organizations derive; as a matter of fact, this is the third year in a row that we have honored OIT with a Process Innovation Award."
The award winning system is installed at NEBS, a provider of top quality business and computer forms, checks, and promotional products to millions of small businesses. The system features OIT's XML FormFLOW, a highly developed Electronic Design Form based around the technology of OIT's Browser Access module, IntraVIEWER®and Workflow/Process Management module, OptiFLOW™. Within this web-based workflow, users are led through the process of creating a form from beginning to end with a point and click interface. These electronic forms link to documents of all types (Word, TIF, COLD/ERM, XLS, etc.) and are stored as XML documents, and workflowed via browsers.
"At OIT we have been developing leading edge technology for over 15 years. The installation at NEBS, along with the dedication of the people at that organization, has helped us show once again that this technology has real-world, quantifiable benefits," notes OIT President, Scott Buchart. "It's been a team effort right from the start, so we are extremely proud to share this honor with NEBS."
An independent panel of industry analysts that included Lee Copeland of Computerworld, Tom Elliott of Strategy Analytics, Julie Fraser of Industry Directions, Arthur Gingrande of IMERGE Consulting, and John Stenbeck of Pareto Principals performed judging.
OIT and NEBS will be officially recognized at the Process Innovation Awards Ceremony & Reception, which will be held at the eSolutions World Conference and Expo on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.
OIT's award-winning Total Solution for Document/Content Management includes: OptiFICHE™ (COLD-ERM/EBPP), OptiIMAGE™ (Document Imaging), OptiFLOW™ (Workflow/Process Management), IntraVIEWER®(Browser Access/E-Business Enabler), ObjectSERVE™ (HSM), ObjectPRINT™ (Print/Fax Server), and InfoVIEW™(Enhanced Index Extraction).
