Helping Give Toys to Tots
State College, Pa. – December 10, 2003 – Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT) is proud to contribute to the Centre County Toys for Tots campaign, which concludes Tuesday, December 16, 2003.
As a corporate contributor, OIT has collected toys from its 35 employees throughout December. Scott Buchart, President and CEO of OIT, comments, “It’s an honor to be involved with the Toys for Tots program during this, and every, holiday season. It is a wonderful organization that helps us give cheer to less fortunate children in our area. I encourage all organizations in the Centre County region to participate to their fullest.”
Elaine Muthersbaugh, an Executive Assistant at OIT, drives company’s involvement in the Toys for Tots program. She remarks, “I send out weekly reminders to all of our employees. Every year we try to surpass the number of gifts we collected the previous season. We more than fill the bucket they provide us! We’re proud to say that this year we’re well on our way to breaking our record!”
Toys donated by OIT employees include games, building blocks, dolls, sports equipment and craft kits. These gifts will be added to the more than 14,000 collected yearly by the Toys for Tots program in Centre County, and distributed to children in the region.
The Toys for Tots program was founded in 1947 and is sponsored by the Marine Corps Reserve. Since its inception, the organization has collected and distributed more than 285,000,000 toys to needy children throughout the United States. There are 90 drop off locations in the Centre County region. The deadline for collection is December 16, 2003.
