Optical Image Technology, Inc. Named Top Electronic Document Management Solution by Doculabs

STATE COLLEGE, PA: Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT) has recently participated in the Doculabs’ Electronic Document Management Systems Integrated Solutions Benchmark Study in Chicago, IL, along with six other EMDS vendors. OIT’s Total Solution was awarded the highest ranking in this study, and has been labeled, "one of the best-integrated EDMS solutions we’ve seen" by the Doculabs’ experts.

Doculabs also states, "OIT is extremely committed to its technology, and this is reflected in the depth of capabilities that its solution provides. The company’s strategy is simple: provide the best product available in its market space. Indeed, OIT’s product has a lot to offer, both as a horizontal solution and for specific vertical applications. The system is open, feature-rich, highly granular, and easy to configure."

Doculabs plotted the overall performance of all seven electronic document management solutions on a chart showing the "overall functionality" and the "level of integration". OIT’s Total Solution achieved the highest ranking in both categories.

This award marks the fourth year OIT has won industry recognition. In 1996, OIT’s OptiFICHE module was given the title of "Benchmark Product" by Doculabs as it was announced the best COLD-ERM solution. In 1997, OIT was awarded the "Best of AIIM" for their entire EDMS suite of products. In 1998, OIT’s OptiIMAGE and OptiFICHE modules were both announced as "Benchmark Products" by Doculabs.

OIT products included in this study were the OptiFICHE (Computer Output to Laser Disk-Enterprise Report Management—COLD-ERM), OptiIMAGE (Document Imaging), OptiFLOW (WorkFLOW SQL), IntraVIEWER (Browser/Java Access), ObjectSERVE (Hierarchical Storage Management), ObjectPRINT (Print/Fax Server) and InfoVIEW (Data Mining/Enhanced Index Extraction).

Doculabs is an independent firm that provides consulting and research in all areas of the document management industry. Different Document Management Software products were set up and tested by the Doculabs’ experts.
