Optical Image Technology Celebrates Twenty-Year Anniversary during June User Conference
Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT) recently celebrated twenty years in business with a three-day user conference from June 14 - 16, 2006 in State College, Pennsylvania, where its headquarters are located. The convention featured a noteworthy line-up of speakers, including Scott Buchart and Ron Prichard, President and COO of OIT, respectively; Gordon E.J. Hoke, consultant for eVisory, on The Myths and Truths of Business Process Management; Perry Kurlander, Senior Partner at CDMS in Harrisburg; and Scott Blau, co-founder of Datacap, located in Tarrytown, New York. Customers representing the insurance, education, financial, healthcare, and service industries shared their innovative solutions accomplished by using OIT’s DocFinity® software. This cross-industry expertise was further enriched by additional presentations by Vijay Magon, Technical Director of OITUK in the United Kingdom, and clients from throughout the U.K., including Metropolitan Police Service from London, England, and Addenbrookes NHS Trust.
The purpose of the conference was to further educate OIT’s customers and partners about technology solutions that can help them to maximize their investment in OIT’s DocFinity line of document management and workflow products. All conference events took place at The Nittany Lion Inn. The birthday bash included first-class entertainers, a champagne toast, and a ceremonial cake cutting at the Penn State All-Sports Museum and Letterman’s Lounge facilities within Beaver Stadium. This celebratory event provided an opportunity to thank the company’s loyal customers for their partnership in the continued success of OIT.
In addition to the featured speakers, OIT offered a number of handson classes as well as business and technical breakout sessions to meet the varied needs of attendees. Following presentations about the future development of DocFinity products, a panel of developers and professional services providers from OIT shared ideas, fielded questions, and painted the landscape for the developments that are coming in both the short- and long-term. In keeping with the company’s focus on innovation, a customized musical serenade was created and delivered during a conference luncheon. This performance highlighted the longstanding and unique relationships with several of the company’s customers, along with the leaders of its Technical Advisory Panel. The panel is comprised of representatives from OIT customer sites and several partners who work with leaders at OIT to provide ongoing input into product development.
After twenty years of business, OIT remains a global software developer dedicated to providing products and services that improve business performance with better information management, decision making, and customer service. Its mission is to empower their customers to achieve a higher level of business performance with DocFinity, its line of document management and workflow products. In addition to focusing on delivering top-quality products, personalized customer service has always been an imperative. Customer feedback about the conference, which was provided anonymously, underlines the strong relationships between OIT and its customers. The value of this year’s conference was well summarized with two of these quotes:
“This conference really helped me because it allowed me to see the wide range of uses for DocFinity.”
“The best part of this year’s DocFinity User Conference was the people. Everyone from OIT staff to vendors to attendees was great. The time we shared together was very valuable. I’ve attended all of the user conferences and this one was the best one yet!”
