IASA and The Institute of Homeland and Defense Technologies Selects OIT Staff
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT), creator of the award-winning DocFinity® suite of document management and workflow software, is pleased to announce that Jim Thumma and Ian Llado will serve on committees for the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA) and The Pennsylvania Institute of Homeland and Defense Technologies. Thumma and Llado will both serve on IASA committees and Thumma additionally will contribute to the advisory board of the Pennsylvania Institute of Homeland and Defense Technologies. Both gentlemen were chosen to serve on these organizations based on their industry knowledge and interest in the organizations.
Thumma, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for OIT, will serve on IASA's Technology Development Committees in 2007, along with twenty-three other individuals with technology and insurance credentials. This committee recommends and oversees the implementation of the IASA technology investments. Thumma has more than twenty years of experience in the insurance and technology fields, extending from claims and remittance processing to implementing document management and workflow technologies.
Ian Llado, a sales account manager for OIT, will serve on the 2007 IASA Membership Committee. This sixteen-member committee is responsible for membership acquisition and retention, and advises their board of directors on how to better serve member needs. In 2008, Llado will shift his participation to the Technology Program Committee. Llado has helped numerous companies with document conversion as well as document management and workflow implementations.
"We are are pleased to have Mr. Llado and Mr. Thumma contributing their expertise through our committee ranks," said Joe Pomilia, IASA Executive Director. "It is this type of volunteerism that is the trademark of IASA and has helped us deliver outstanding educational choices since 1928." IASA is based in Durham, N.C., has 29 nationwide chapters, and is the insurance industry's largest non-profit, volunteer-driven, education association striving to enhance the knowledge of insurance industry professionals.
Thumma was also selected to serve on the advisory board for the Pennsylvania Institute of Homeland and Defense Technologies. The Institute was founded for three primary reasons: to assist organizations seeking to do business with the US Department of Defense & Homeland Security, PEMA/FEMA, and Pennsylvania's Homeland Security efforts; to facilitate state and federal grant applications for research and development in these efforts; and to deploy industry-specific best practices into the discovery, demonstration, development, and timely delivery of advanced technology products, solutions, and applications. Thumma states, "I am excited to work alongside and collaborate with such a notable group of technology leaders from within Pennsylvania."
The Institute of Homeland and Defense Technologies is housed with the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania (TCCP), which is providing offices, operations and management support. TCCP is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and success of the technology community within a twenty-four county region of Central Pennsylvania.
