Optical Image Technology, Inc. Releases New Version of Web Services
Latest Version Offers Customers More Methods for Integration
STATE COLLEGE , Pa – May 19, 2005 – Optical Image Technology, Inc. (OIT) announced that it has released its newest version of the DocFinity Web Services, which is available now and is included in the DocFinity Core. The upgrade focuses on two web services options, the DocFinity Web Services API and the DocFinity URL API.
“This new version will help users fully leverage their existing DocFinity software,” said Harold Hockman, Director of Professional Services.
The newest DocFinity Web Services is a robust group of Web service URL and API calls that leverage the DocFinity Suite of products that enable integration. Web services can enable administrators and end users to do more with document management, workflow, retrieval, printing, faxing, and even indexing through integration.
“Our customers will no longer need to train their staff on various user interfaces for processing documents and workflows with our new web services. Instead customers can integrate a proven back-end solution into existing applications for ease of deployment, training, and internal support,” said Scott Buchart, president and CEO of OIT.
The DocFinity Web Services API enables users to tap into all of the functionality of the DocFinity Suite, but within their own familiar software applications, portals or web pages. The DocFinity API allows servers to communicate with each other behind the scenes, enabling the client to extract information, generate reports, view archived images and files, process information electronically through automated workflow, and much more.
The upgrade to DocFinity Web Services also offers a more basic toolkit, The DocFinity URL API, which is driven by web addresses (URLs). The URL API enables users to run queries and view objects stored in the DocFinity repository from within their own applications, such as correspondence, policies, check images or other stored documents, and is a quick and easy method of integration.
“Our technology has become a mission-critical application at many customer sites, and is now being leveraged as a ‘black box’ piece of the customer’s infrastructure by utilizing its extraordinarily powerful server engines, allowing customers to process in the front-end with existing or new applications from a variety of platforms in a variety of languages,” said Buchart.
