QuickScan: Import and index information quickly and easily

Scan settings are configured behind the scenes to simplify operations for end users

How QuickScan Works

Initially, a scanning operator selects a document type. If a 3270 link is turned on, QuickScan will look within the 3270 session to verify whether the scan operator is using a valid screen. Data will then be harvested to give the user visual acknowledgement on the scan screen. The scanning operator then scans the document and is prompted with a quick review screen to verify that the document was scanned correctly.

Depending on the QuickScan configuration, which addresses organizations’ unique needs, the scanned information will have one of three destinations: it will either be stored in a repository, placed in a batch to be indexed later, or will launch PowerIndexing so that the scanning operator can continue to use automated indexing. A scanned image can be immediately launched from any of these destinations into a workflow.

QuickScan has the ability to pass URLs and executables into DocFinity®. It can bring up Dashboard, Workflow, or other DocFinity modules, making it extremely scalable. With a couple of keystrokes, users can scan documents: one keystroke is used to select the document type or bar code, one to scan if document scanning is the requested outcome, and one to save or commit the document. Queries can be preset with multiple values in order to bring back immediately the hit lists and images that are desired. The result: simplified scanning and importation of documents with no need for technical proficiency.QuickScan image
